PASTOR JASON HAYMAKER

LEAD PASTOR

Pastor Jason Haymaker was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Business from Grace College (’94) and his Masters in Ministry from Grace Theological Seminary (’99). Jason served as the associate/youth pastor in Akron, Ohio from 1994 to 1996. In October of 1996 he and wife Marcie accepted the position to come to Western Reserve as the associate/youth pastor. In 2000 Jason was asked to become senior pastor of the church. Jason testifies that his life is defined by the four passions that drive him: love for the Lord, his wife, children, and ministry. He and Marcie live in Streetsboro and have two children: Caleb and Emily.

Lawrence La-Follette

PASTOR OF BIBLICAL INTEGRATION

Lawrence was born and raised in the Midwest, living in both suburban Detroit and small town Indiana in his upbringing. He graduated from Grace College and Theological Seminary in 2021, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and his Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Studies. Lawrence served for three years as a youth pastor in Wawaka, Indiana before coming on staff at Western Reserve in the spring of 2021. Lawrence’s chief passion is to see God’s people taking their next steps of faith in Christ – loving God, loving others, and making disciples for His glory. Lawrence is married to our student ministry coordinator, Emily.

SARAH MCMAHON

DIRECTOR OF WOMEN’S MINISTRIES + COMMUNICATIONS

Sarah has been serving on staff at Western Reserve since 2012. Sarah has a passion for helping women say their next “yes” to Jesus and equipping and empowering them to share the love of God in their daily lives. She loves art and design and using her creative skills in the area of communications and marketing for the church. She has an Associate’s Degree in Visual Communications, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art Photography with a minor in Art History from the University of Akron. Sarah is credentialed through Charis Women and holds a Certification in Ministry Leadership. She also serves on the board of directors for Charis Women. Sarah and her husband, Brian, have two boys, Liam and Finley. Sarah’s love languages are coffee and folk music.

Stephanie Donahue

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY COORDINATOR

Stephanie was born and raised in Boardman, Ohio. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Childhood Education with focuses in Science and Social Studies while generalizing in Language Arts and Math from Kent State University. She has been volunteering in the Children’s Ministry at Western Reserve since 2015, becoming a K-5 Volunteer coordinator in 2016. Stephanie has been serving as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator since 2020 and loves leading children and families to Christ. She married her husband in 2007 and they have three children; son. Noah and daughters, Amelia and Olivia. They live in Hudson, OH.

Emily La-Follette

STUDENT MINISTRY COORDINATOR

Emily has been in Ohio her entire life. She is working on getting her Biblical Studies degree with a minor in Behavioral Science from Grace College. Emily has attended Western Reserve since she was born. While at the Grace College campus in Indiana, Emily served as a youth leader at Cosperville Baptist Church for a year. She has served two internships at Western Reserve for the student ministry. Now, she is serving as the Student Ministries Resident. Emily has a passion for seeing lost people come to know and grow in Jesus Christ. Her life is outlined by her relationship with the Lord, her love for her husband Lawrence La-Follette, and her full-time calling into ministry.

CHERYL SIMON

ASSISTANT TO PASTOR JASON

Cheryl started on staff in 2008 as Pastor Jason’s administrative assistant, and is also coordinator of church special events. She and her husband, Jeff, were the first couple married at Western Reserve Grace Church, when the original church was built in 1992. They have two sons, Alex and Joe. Cheryl loves how at Western Reserve, people are welcomed “just as they are” and can worship and learn God’s Word in a church that’s authentic, relatable and exciting.

Doug and his wife, Debbie, are longtime Stakeholders of WRGC. He oversees the church’s finances as well as human resources.

BRIAN MCMAHON

Brian oversees our worship and production at WRGC. He and his wife, Sarah, have been apart of WRGC for over 13 years. He also serves as a Life Group leader.
